Element Goddess (or The Night)

This is a poem I had to write for an English assignment at school, I think it's okay, so I decided to post it.

Once considered of the elements,
Finds herself living outside Olympus.
Mother of Death himself,
Hair as black as the night she controls.
Her starry eyes are millions compared to ours,
She never get's a chance to rest.
Working tirelessly to keep half the world shrouded in darkness,
Related to gods and mortals alike.
She hears the voices of the world,
but cannot answer to their calls.
Sunlight dims her her radiant glow,
Fading till evening light.
Her beauty only seen,
By nightly angels fleetingly.
Her name is old, but kind and true.
Nyx the goddess of the night.
If anybody can help with any of the spelling, or if anything could be written better or any critiques, it would be much appreciated!
